Built in 1953, Century Tower honors students killed in World Wars I and II. It also commemorates UF's 100th anniversary. Inside is one of North America's largest cast-bell carillons.

Directions

The University of Florida campus is located in Gainesville, Fla., a city in North Central Florida devoted to education and research. When you enter campus from the intersection of W University Ave. and Gale Lemerand Drive (formerly North-South Drive), look for Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on the immediate left and the Stephen C. O'Connell Center ahead on the right. Weil Hall is on the southeast corner of the next intersection (Gale Lemerand Drive and Stadium Road), and many other engineering buildings are farther down along Gale Lemerand Drive, as well.

From Jacksonville

Travel south on I-95. Exit onto I-10 West. Take I-10 to U.S. 301 at Baldwin. Travel south on U.S. 301 for approximately 49 miles. (Beware of speed traps along U.S. 301, especially through the towns of Lawtey, Starke, Hampton and Waldo.) At Waldo, take a right onto SR 24 toward Gainesville. Continue on SR 24 to NW 39th Ave./SR 222, just past the airport. Turn right (West) onto NW 39th Avenue. At NW 13th St., turn left and head south toward campus. Take a right onto W University Avenue and travel west for several blocks. Turn left onto Gale Lemerand Drive (formerly North-South Drive).

From Lake City (or Metro-Atlanta)

Take I-75 South to Exit 387 (Newberry Road / SR 26). Turn left (East) onto Newberry Road. Newberry Road eventually becomes W University Ave. Continue toward the University, and turn right onto Gale Lemerand Drive (formerly North-South Drive).

From Tallahassee (or Pensacola)

Take I-10 East 103 miles to the I-75 interchange. Take I-75 South to Exit 387 (Newberry Road / SR 26). Turn left (East) onto Newberry Road. Newberry Road eventually becomes W University Ave. Continue toward the University, and turn right onto Gale Lemerand Drive (formerly North-South Drive).

From Tampa / St. Petersburg / Clearwater / Sarasota

Take I-75 North to Exit 387 (Newberry Road / SR 26). Turn right (East) onto Newberry Road. Newberry Road eventually becomes W University Ave. Continue toward the University, and turn right onto Gale Lemerand Drive (formerly North-South Drive).

From Southeast / Orlando / Ft. Lauderdale / Miami

Take the Florida Turnpike North and merge into I-75. Take I-75 North to Exit 387 (Newberry Road / SR 26). Turn right (East) onto Newberry Road. Newberry Road eventually becomes W University Ave. Continue toward the University, and turn right onto Gale Lemerand Drive (formerly North-South Drive).
