admissions / graduate admissions
Graduate admissions into Gator Engineering programs is intensely competitive. The first step is to pick which department you'd like to join. There are 11 within our college, each with its own culture and research focus. You'll send application materials to both the university Graduate School and to your desired department. In the end, the department itself will decide whether or not to admit you.
Application Procedures
Graduate-level applications are processed by both the UF Graduate School and the department to which you are applying. Ultimately, the admissions decision is up to the department.
Application Materials
Since you'll apply through one of our departments, be sure to check with your department for exact information on applying. Generally speaking, though, most departments require:
- Online application ($30 application fee)
www.admissions.ufl.edu - Statement of Purpose
- Letters of Recommendation
- Application for Fellowship or Assistantship
- Copies of all applicable test scores and transcripts
You'll mail some of your materials directly to the department, and others to the UF admissions office. Some departments will allow you to send everything to the department, and then they will forward the required pieces to the admissions office. Contact someone from your department for information on exact guidelines.
