Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering was created in 2002 by merging two of the College’s oldest departments. MAE is an internationally recognized group of some 50 faculty, 280 graduate students and 970 undergraduates conducting exciting research and providing both undergraduate and graduate programs.

CISE is concerned with the theory, design, development and application of computer systems and information-processing techniques. The Department aims to educate undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the broader campus community, in the fundamental concepts of the computing discipline, to create and disseminate computing knowledge and technology, and to use its expertise in computing to help society solve problems.

Established in 1910, the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering has built an international reputation for excellence in teaching, research and service. The department is housed in three buildings: Larsen, Benton and the New Engineering Building.

Industrial & Systems Engineering researches the analytical and practical aspects of product and process design, plant operation, quality control, facilities planning, work system analysis and evaluation, and economic analysis of operational systems.
MSE stands among the best materials, metallurgy and ceramics departments in the nation. The Department firmly believes that research is teaching, and so students of all levels are involved in almost every research and development project.

NRE was established in 1957 to contribute to research and education for peaceful uses of atoms. Since then, NRE has become a mature engineering discipline with various applications including power generation, medical diagnosis and therapy, industrial and medical imaging, nondestructive imaging and detection, food irradiation, isotope production and military.
