Florida’s agricultural industry is one of the largest and most diverse in the nation. As such, it requires a broad and interdisciplinary research approach to ensure its continued prosperity as the population swells and natural resources become increasingly limited. ABE links engineering with life sciences to produce food, feed, fuel, fiber and other products from renewable bio-resources.

Computer Engineering brings a core competency and unique value of integrated knowledge in both computer software and hardware, providing a balance among computer systems, hardware and software as well as theory and applications. Specialization in Computer Engineering is provided via technical electives with software or hardware emphases from the Department of Computer and Information Science (www.cise.ufl.edu) and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (www.ece.ufl.edu).

Nuclear
Nuclear Engineering
NRE was established in 1957 to contribute to research and education for peaceful uses of atoms. Since then, NRE has become a mature engineering discipline with various applications including power generation, medical diagnosis and therapy, industrial and medical imaging, nondestructive imaging and detection, food irradiation, isotope production and military.
