Spring 2008 Commencement
The College of Engineering will hold its own commencement ceremony for
undergraduate students only this semester. The University will host commencement ceremonies for
graduate students of all colleges. For more information, visit the Registrar's

We hold three major events at commencement: the
Order of the Engineer ring ceremony, a graduation reception for families and guests, and
the Commencement ceremony. If you're graduating this semester, we hope you'll bring your
friends and family, and join us in celebrating your accomplishments. Browse through these

Thursday, May 1, 2008, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Graduating students are inducted into the Order of the Engineer, linking them with the Code of
Ethics. Friends and family are encouraged to come. If you plan to attend, be sure to fill out the
application form and pay the fee ahead of time. Please contact Margie Williams in 312 Weil Hall
for more information.

Planning on participating in commencement? Whether you're a graduating Gator Engineer or an
honored guest, there are several things you'll need to know about the ceremony. For more information, visit the

- Graduation Awards At the commencement ceremony, the
Dean's Office will honor one or more students as four-year scholars or two-year scholars.
- Graduation Awards Application In order to assist the committee
in its search, it's very important that you be as specific as possible when filling out this
application.
- Deans, Chairs, Marshals, Undergraduate Coordinators, Platform
Party and Student Ushers Regalia Order Form If you're participating in the commencement
ceremony in one of these roles, you'll need to wear a cap and gown. We'll help coordinate your
order if you complete this form.
