Management Information Systems (MIS) is a section of the Engineering Fiscal and Personnel Office
that supports the Information Technology resources of the College of Engineering. We directly
support the server and workstation infrastructure of the administration, maintain the Internet point-of-presence
for the College, and act as network, software license, and security liasons for the entire College.

It has come to our attention that there is a mistake in the fiscal calendar created by us that could be imported into your Outlook personal calendars. This calendar mistakenly lists January 2, 2009 as a TEAMS Paid Leave day. To correct this error if you imported the FISCALCALENDAR.PST into your personal calendar, please delete this appointment from your calendar.

Tell Your Users! Cyber Self Defense Class October 6 [September 19, 2008]
Designed for the end user, this session will raise awareness of faculty and staff on topics including safe Web browsing, principle of least privilege, malware threats, e-mail safety, choosing a good password, encrypting and backing up files, and wireless security. The class is very interactive with discussion topics that get the participants thinking about how to protect their personal computers and work computers both at home and in the office.

Weil Telephone System (part 1) [September 8, 2008]
We were notified by many users this morning that their phone displayed
a ‘major alarm’ message. The handset was not functioning. As a result of
overheating in the telecommunications room at least one of the units that
control the phones was not functioning properly. To resolve the problem we
were forced to reset the phone system. This may have caused any lines in
use to lose connection.

The phone system is continuing to have problems. We are continuing to troubleshoot and have put a call in to telecommunications. The phone system will be going down one last time while we move the entire system to a new UPS.
