MIS / Computer Accounts / Acceptable Use Policy

Before accounts are given to faculty, staff, or sponsored students they must sign a statement, which is located on the Account Application Form, stating:

I will not use my Engineering computer account(s) to violate state or federal laws, or University regulations or policies, including those on copyrights, intellectual property, obscenity, and computer crime. I will use the account only for University-related purposes. I will keep my password and account secure from unauthorized use. I have read and will abide by the "Acceptable Use of University Computing Resources Policy" (http://www.it.ufl.edu/policies/aupolicy.html).

In addition to this sign statement it is important for users to understand that the resources that these accounts grant access to are routinely monitored to ensure their continued operation. In the course of regular system maintenance your actions on these resources may be monitored.
