This Friday evening the Engineering Administration mail service will
transition into UF Exchange. There are a number of changes relating to
this transition that have been previously explained. This message is to
inform you of the new server settings that you'll after your mailbox is
transitioned into UF Exchange.
If you are within Engineering Administration, have your desktop
computer managed by MIS and use Outlook as your email client than
you should not need to do anything in order to continue using Outlook
to access your email. On Monday, you will simply restart your computer,
login, open Outlook, and continue operating normally.
Users of other email clients, laptops or computers that are not
managed by MIS will need to update server settings within their email
client in order to continue using their email. Server settings are
described in detail on the UF Exchange website (specifically at
http://www.mail.ufl.edu/connecting.shtml). This site has detailed
instructions, which include screenshots, for configuring Outlook 2007,
Outlook 2003, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Vista Windows Mail,
Entourage, Mac Mail, and Evolution.
If you need help making changes please contact your local IT
support.
Please note, there are no changes needed for users of the web
mail client at http://mail.ufl.edu or for
users of mobile devices that use ActiveSync or Blackberry Enterprise
Clients.
As always, you can call 392-9217 or email mis@eng.ufl.edu if you
have comments or questions regarding the information contained
within this message.
