I just sent several automatically generated messages to users of the
EG-ADM EXCHANGE server. The message that was sent is to inform
users of specific issues that they will want to look at before the transition
into UF EXCHANGE. There was a warning being generated in this
message in error (I'll be reviewing this script to see what this happened
so it doesn't repeat when I rerun this closer to our transition date).
The warning message about "XXXXX mailbox is very large
(>100MB)(total size= ###)." should not have been included in this
message. You can ignore this. There is no reason to concern yourself
with how much information you have stored in the mailbox since there
are no mailbox quotas.
Sorry about this mistake.
And a word of explanation for each warning:
'XXXX mailbox has items older than 2009-01-01...' This warning will be
generated for the 'Inbox' and 'Sent Items' folders and indicate you have
some old items in there that may be deleted due to the 1 year retention
period enforced by UF EXCHANGE on these folders.
'XXXX mailbox appears to have subfolders' This warning will be
generated for the 'Inbox' and 'Sent Items' folders. Any item, including a
sub-folder, in the 'Inbox' and 'Sent Items' folders will be subject to the 1
year retention period. Do not use subfolders of the these special folders
unless you are ok with the system deleting items in them after the
retention period. We recommend that you create additional folders
at the same level of the 'Inbox' and 'Sent Items' folders in order to avoid
the automatic deletion of items.
"XXXX mailbox is over, or approaching, the recommended item limit
(>5000)..." This warning is to inform you that the mailbox contains a lot
of items. We recommend that you keep the number of items in special
folders to under 5000 for performance reasons.
'XXXX mailbox has many items that may be deleted...' this warning is
generated in error.
'XXXX mailbox is very large...' This warning is generated in error.
