The upgrade to the new servers and newer version of Novell Netware
has enabled us to take advantage of some of the more advanced features
of Netware. One of these new features, called NetStorage, enables
remote access to network drives through a web browser.
Using NetStorage at home will allow you to download files
from your H:\, I:\, or J:\ drives, edit them, and upload them again
for access at work the next day. Due to security reasons, however, we've
locked NetStorage access to campus addresses only. This means
that you'll need to use the Campus VPN client when accessing NetStorage
from off-campus.
After you've connected to the Internet and logged into the UF VPN
client the procedure for connecting to and using NetStorage is
really rather simple:
Type in your User name: and Password:
in the Connect to grapevine.engnet.ufl.edu dialog (figure one).

Once you are connected (figure two) you need to double-click on any of the
drive letter or folder links in order to enter that drive/folder. To do
something with an existing file, single-click the link in order to 'check'
the selection box and use the File, Edit, or
View menu items (a dropdown menu will display the available options).
This will allow you to download, delete, rename, etc the file. For more
information on using NetStorage click the Help link
(this information is also available
here.

NOTE:NetStorage makes extensive use of popups for
some of its functionality. As a result it is best to disable the popup blocker
or add grapevine.engnet.ufl.edu to the list of Allowed sites.
To do this:
Choose Pop-up Blocker Settings... from the Tools -
Pop-up Blocker menu (figure three).
In the Pop-up Blocker Settings dialog, type the website
name, grapevine.engnet.ufl.edu, and click the
Add button.
Click the Close button.
