College of Engineering Letterhead/Stationery
by Shawn C Lander on March 5, 2004
The College of Engineering's Deans Office recently recieved a memorandum from
the Office of Public Relations concerning the various versions of letterhead and
stationary that are in use within the administration. It brought to our attention
that the letterhead in use within the administration violates UF graphical
standards.
After some discussions with the Office of Public Relations, Melissa Orth
was able to supply us with a Microsoft Word template document. However, it is
important to note that this template is still UNOFFICIAL letterhead.

Hi Shawn,
As we discussed earlier today, attached is an UNOFFICIAL letterhead
sample you can use as a guide. All printing of official university stationery
must be handled through one of the printers the university has a contract with
including Ameriprint, Double M Printing, Jon Anderson Printing, and Printing
Resources unless the policies are amended and state otherwise. See
http://www.purchasing.ufl.edu/main_ufprices.asp
for links to each printer and pricing.
Please note that ALL UF Graphic Standards Policies must be followed,
including no personalized letterhead (with the exception of the President of
the university), proper margins and all of the additional policies found online at
http://www.pr.ufl.edu/graphplcy.htm,
under Standards for Letterhead,Envelopes.
Should you have any questions regarding the policies, please do not
hesitate to email me or contact me at 846-3903. I hope this attachment is
helpful.
Thanks,
Melissa
It is important to note the following from UF's policy on Letterhead,
Envelopes, and Business Cards:
No more than three unit names should be used (office, center, department,
college).
Fax numbers, email addresses, BITNET, Internet, Telex, or VAX may be
added if departmental (not personal).
With the exception of the president of the university, traditionally
printed stationery is not to be personalized. Business cards are the
appropriate place for such personalized information
The Office of Public Relations recognizes the need to change the policy to
allow creation of document templates that can be used within your own electronic
documents and printed using a laserprinter. The changes to the policy are
currently in committee but until such time use of the Microsoft Word document
template provided here is still UNOFFICIAL.
The document template provided by the Office of Public Relations is found
here. Right-click this link to save the file to
your desktop.
You can modify the template by opening Microsoft Word... from the open file
dialog box make sure that Document Templates (*.dot) is selected
in the Files of type: option. You can only change the wording of the
office name and URL at top of the letterhead. DO NOT CHANGE FONT SIZES, FACES,
OR WEIGHTS.
