Student-developed computer games get spotlight

3rd Annual Game Day

3rd Annual Game Day

Students are hosting the 3rd Annual "Game Day" open house to showcase computer games they have developed for classes this semester.

On Monday April 21 from 12:30-5 p.m. students from CIS 4930 (Artificial Intelligence in Computer Games) and CAP 3020 (Theory & Practice of Multimedia Production) host the 3rd Annual "Game Day" open house to demonstrate computer games they have developed this semester. This event will be held in 112 CSE and the adjacent lobby/hallway.

The games developed this year include:

  • C:DOS Run (chronicles the adventures of a robot named DOS as he explores the decaying factory where he was created)
  • DaveHeim (the guests have arrived at Dave's mansion for a party, but he is missing. It's up to you to solve the mystery)
  • Public Relations (a mid-level public relations manager strived to earn raises, promotions, and much needed vacation time, however, puzzles lie in his path that must be solved)
  • Dark Lord: Vengeance (you were a high ranking demon until you were demoted. It's time for revenge)
  • Handful of Quarters (players navigate their way through a 1980s era arcade earning quarters by playing the various games that they find. This game uses the Rock Band drum set to play the game)
  • Dr. Screwball (a valuable prototype was stolen from your company; you've just been promoted to Repossession Engineer and must get it back)
  • Space Wars (the year is 2090 and you travel around in space trading resources and avoiding pirates)
  • Mondonia: Capriccio's Calling (Mondonia has been plunged into cacophony by the evil Fortissimo: restore order by saving the Melodoos and your maker, the Maestro)
  • Legacy (a turned based game involving the capture and control of the limited number of supply yards spread across the map).
