Post-award:

  • file maintenance (including denials and deactivations)
  • archiving and scanning

Grants Assistant
Post-Award:
  • award establishment and administration (no cost extensions, unrestricted funds, grant awards)
  • project reporting requirements (including NSF FastLane and ONR AdminWeb)
  • closeout coordination

Other:

  • document receipt and maintains the Mail Log
  • problem resolution

Grants Specialist
Pre-award:
  • assists in obtaining and interpreting program guidelines
  • performs proposal compliance reviews (unsolicited and in response to program announcements)
  • coordinates submission of proposals
  • acts as liaison with and responds to agency's requests during proposal review and analysis
  • reviews funding documents (e.g. contract, cooperative agreements, subcontracts) for compliance with Florida Statutes and College and University policies including -- patent rights, proprietary/confidentiality, publications, liability/insurance, reporting requirements and payments

Post-award:

  • award establishment and administration
  • assists with the processing of award documents to finalize advances of funding or time extensions

Other:

  • problem resolution

Grants Specialist Supervisor
Pre-award:
  • reviews and assists in responding business component of Requests for Proposal (e.g., UF annual financial reports, representations & certifications, special requirements)
  • reviews and negotiates funding documents for compliance with Florida Statutes and College and University policies including -- patent rights, proprietary/confidentiality, publications, liability/insurance, reporting requirements and payments

Post-award:

  • prepares and negotiates subcontracts for services to be procured under Engineering's sponsored projects

Other:

  • supervises Office of Engineering Research
  • coordinates with Associate Dean for Research to establish Engineering's research policies
  • establishes and implements procedures for research administration
  • prepares reports relative to Engineering proposals and awards
  • NSF FastLane registration or password changes
  • Webmaster
  • acts as a resource for obtaining regulatory information via the Internet
  • acts as a resource for problem resolution

Senior Grants Specialist
Pre-award:
  • assists in obtaining and interpreting program guidelines
  • reviews and assists in responding business component of Requests for Proposal (e.g., UF annual financial reports, representations & certifications, special requirements)
  • performs proposal compliance reviews (i.e., budgetary and College, University and agency requirements)
  • coordinates submission of proposals
  • acts as liaison with and responds to agency's requests during proposal review and analysis
  • reviews and negotiates contractual documents (including Non-Disclosure Agreements) for compliance with Florida Statutes and College and University policies including -- patent rights, proprietary/confidentiality, publications, liability/insurance, reporting requirements and payments.

Post-award:

  • Establishes accounts and processes releases of funds
  • consults agency regulations and with agency officials to determine potential risk in advance release of funding or extensions
  • prepares and negotiates subcontracts for services to be procured under Engineering's sponsored projects

Other:

  • problem resolution
  • acts as a resource for obtaining regulatory information via the Internet
