Through the UF EDGE program, the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering provides the opportunity for online graduate certificates. Certificates are structured as 3-5 online courses and can be completed in as little as a year. Graduate certificates provide graduate level qualifications for engineers in industry and the military who are interested in expanding their professional qualifications with less of a time investment than a full master’s degree requires.
Admission to most certificates does not require exams, and criteria for participation usually include a bachelor’s degree in a related field with a 3.0 or higher undergraduate GPA. Certificate courses may be transferable towards credits for a related master’s degree through the UF EDGE program; some students prefer to begin with a certificate and decide later if they want to continue to a master’s degree program. Brochures and applications for online graduate certificates can be found at www.ufedge.ufl.edu/programs/certificates.php.
