The AI University Initiative is about more than serving just UF faculty and students. It’s about serving Florida’s and the nation’s citizens and businesses with whom we collaborate to grow our hi-tech economy and foster workforce development.

Through the Florida Engineering Experiment Station (FLEX), the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is helping industry and citizens  prepare for the opportunities and challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.  Through distance-delivered (electronic) short courses to up-skill citizens to participate in the next generation workforce, and through connecting industry to our AI research and educational programs, we actively seek out opportunities to place Florida at the forefront of the next generation of AI advancements.

Collaborating with Florida industry, Florida universities and state colleges, economic development organizations, state agencies, and Florida’s K-12 systems, the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering pushes further in creating a robust talent pipeline with lasting multi-generational impact.
