Abstract

These camps are specifically aimed at promoting computer science literacy among middle school students from underrepresented populations (not a direct AI component but focused on developing foundational skills needed for AI Education). Camps will be 1-2 weeks in duration and offered in partnership with Palm Beach, Orange (having multiple sessions), Sarasota, and Escambia County School Districts and are expected to serve approximately 125 students in those communities. The programs can be scaled considerably with additional regional investments. Content for the camps is being developed and implemented by Nancy Ruzycki, Ph.D., and leverages the EQuIPD-trained teachers to deliver content locally.
