{"id":49,"date":"2018-03-07T12:16:30","date_gmt":"2018-03-07T17:16:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eng.ufl.edu\/facilities\/?page_id=49"},"modified":"2025-09-05T16:25:29","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T20:25:29","slug":"building-and-room-access","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.eng.ufl.edu\/facilities\/hwcoe-buildings-information\/building-and-room-access\/","title":{"rendered":"Building and Room Access"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eng.ufl.edu\/facilities\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/225\/2023\/08\/IMG_3418-scaled-1-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4229\" style=\"width:300px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Building Hours<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering buildings are open Monday-Friday.\u00a0 The hours of each building can vary in order to accommodate classroom access.\u00a0 The exterior building doors will be electronically locked after the final class has finished for the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All college buildings will remain closed during the weekends and on all major holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requesting Keys for Rooms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Room keys may be requested to gain access to office and\/or lab space throughout the college.\u00a0 All keys for college administrative spaces can be requested by submitting a <a href=\"\/facilities\/service-requests\/building-access-request-form\/\">service request<\/a> to Facilities Operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Electronic Door Access<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorized faculty, staff, and students can gain after-hours access to the buildings using electronic card readers.\u00a0 After-hours building access can be requested by submitting a <a href=\"\/facilities\/service-requests\/building-access-request-form\/\">service request<\/a> to Facilities Operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installing Electronic Door Access<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Florida standard for electronic door access is currently the Lenel System. The college Facility Operations project management staff can assist you through the installation process. Each project requires a scope of work developed by UF &#8211; Physical Security. Our staff will then retain quotes from qualified vendors according to the requirements outlined in the scope of work. The cost of a system can vary greatly from project to project. The differences in cost are related to the amount and capacity of existing Lenel equipment in a building.
