Open Data Platform for Future Data Eco-society
Speaker: Jun Kyun Choi, Professor of KAIST, School of Electrical Engineering

Abstract
The Future data technologies may change the existing value chain of ICT world. In this
talk, the existing digital data format and standards for non-ICT world (smart city, transport,
energy, health, logistics, etc.) as well as for ICT world (telecommunication, broadcast, and
Internet) are reviewed. Toward future data eco-society, the basic understanding how to
extract information and knowledge from data are discussed. Also, key technical issues of
data model are investigated by being aware of some paradox between open data and
data security. Finally, key requirements, especially for future data model for smart city and
IoT applications, to enable efficient data sharing and aggregation are identified. The
standardization strategies for open data platform are proposed.
