Distinguished Professor
Newton C. Ebaugh Professor
Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering
Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering
Seminar Title: “Riding Waves for Design of Innovative Experiments, Probing Material Behavior, and Detecting Structural Defects”
• To unravel the constitutive behavior of materials under dynamic (or impact) loads and to detect defects in structures, wave propagation phenomenon is often utilized.
• In this talk, I will provide several examples of novel experimental techniques that have been developed using wave mechanics principles and present sample cases for the investigated material behavior.
Location: Reitz Union, Chamber Room (ground floor) & via Webcast
