Title: A Quick Introduction to 3D Printing

What is Additive Manufacturing (AM), 3D Printing, and Bioplotting? How can Industrial Engineers leverage these in industry and in academic research? AM is a relatively new space for Industrial Engineers to explore and focus on the engineering development of processes, materials, and AM applications. AM, also known as 3D printing, has grown in popularity particularly for small models and novelty gadgets. However, AM can be used for far greater applications for products focused on anything from health care to aerospace. How can IE’s get involved? This seminar will provide the attendees with an overview of AM methods and materials and shed light on how engineers can use these to further improve product development processes. Further, it will discuss how AM can be used in your research as well as in your future employment.
