March is Women’s History Month, and the Association for Academic Women at the University of Florida honored Dean Abernathy as its 2016 Woman of Distinction.
UF President Kent Fuchs spoke about the need for gender parity in academia – among both faculty and students – at the AAW award reception. “The deans of eight of our 16 colleges are women, and the dean of our engineering college, Cammy Abernathy, has become a national leader on this issue. With Dean Abernathy’s guidance, UF is starting to close the gender gap in engineering.”
