Students from the UF section of the Society for Women in Engineering traveled to the SWE national conference in Nashville, TN last weekend, and returned with a  “gold level” award for Outstanding Collegiate Section. This is the highest level of honor that a SWE section can receive, and it recognized a combination of successful events, outreach, publicity, membership base and collaboration with other organizations that the UF section has accomplished.

In addition, the UF chapter won third place in “Collegiate Communications,” for effective use of their website, newsletter and social media accounts to promote themselves and SWE, as well as press releases and coordination with other communication outlets.

Our region representative Erin Winick received a $5,000 Honeywell Scholarship for her engineering accomplishments and SWE involvement.
