Student Request for NSF Registration and Travel Support guidelines

NSF Registration Support

All students requesting NSF funded registration support must complete the following steps:
  1. Submit an abstract no later than March 28th.
  2. Register for NanoFlorida 2022 (Choose: $0.00 Student Registration (Requesting NSF Support))

NSF Travel Support

NSF travel support is limited to Non-UF students and is calculated based on double student occupancy of hotel rooms as well as double occupancy of a personal vehicle. The student driver will be reimbursed for mileage of a personal vehicle only. Mileage will be calculated from the home institution to the conference venue. No reimbursements will be issued for airfare, rental cars, trains, or transportation companies such as Uber, Lyft or similar.

Students requesting NSF funded travel support must complete the followings steps to be considered:
  1. Submit an abstract no later than March 28th.
  2. Register for NanoFlorida 2022 (Choose: $0.00 Student Registration (Requesting NSF Support))
  3. Complete the request for additional information no later than April 4th. (This will be sent via the email confirmation of your travel support)

Students receiving NSF support for registration and travel expenses will be notified via email as soon as possible, but no later than Wednesday, March 30th. A form will be sent with the notification email, requesting additional details for booking of hotel rooms and processing mileage reimbursement. Please respond to the request for additional details no later than Monday, April 4th. Failure to do so could result in forfeiture of your NSF travel support. Students will be given the opportunity to identify a fellow student to rideshare and/or room share. If no student is identified by the awardee, conference organizers will arrange for shared rooms with additional student conference attendees from other universities based on gender. Special requests may be made in the comments section of the form.

Please note that registration and travel support is limited to the amount provided by the NSF award.  Although the initially proposed travel estimates were made prior to fuel-price increases, we will do our best to accommodate as many students as our funding allows.

Additional questions and concerns should be directed to Dina Quinn at dina.quinn@ufl.edu, with cc to nnscofficial@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you at the NanoFlorida 2022 International Conference!
