After working in the University of MD, Medical School, Baltimore MD for a couple of years, she joined the Neural Stem Cell laboratory of Dr. Brent Reynolds as a postdoctoral associate. In addition, she works with Dr. Michael Okun (Neurology) as part of the Movement Disorders and Restoration team on several clinical projects relating to Parkinson\u2019s disease and other movement disorders.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Vedam-Mai\u2019s research focuses on the study of the effect of electrical stimulation (such as DBS) on the neurogenic niches of the brain, and ultimately to try and comprehend the mode of action of this surgical procedure at the cellular level.
