Oweiss received his Ph.D. degree (2002) in Electrical Engineering and\u00a0Computer Science from the University of Michigan (UM), Ann Arbor. He is currently\u00a0a Pre-eminent Professor of Electrical\u00a0and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering (Hebert Wertheim College of Engineering) and Neuroscience (McKnight Brain Institute) at the University of Florida. He\u00a0is a senior member of the IEEE. He received the excellence in Neural Engineering\u00a0award from NSF in 2001, and is\u00a0the editor of the book:\u00a0Statistical\u00a0Signal Processing for Neuroscience and Neurotechnology\u00a0(2010). His research\u00a0interests\u00a0are in the study the neural mechanisms of\u00a0sensorimotor integration\u00a0and in the engineering clinically viable brain machine interfaces\u00a0seeking to restore, augment, or repair damaged neurological function.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/oweisslab.ece.ufl.edu\/publications\/\">Publications<\/a>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>P.
