Students and faculty involved in nanotechnology research from across the state will gather to discuss and share their latest results. Focus topics for the meeting include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nanotechnology for Materials and Devices<\/li>\n<li>Nanotechnology for Energy and the Environment<\/li>\n<li>Nanotechnology for Medicine<\/li>\n<li>Nanotechnology for Agriculture<\/li>\n<li>Nanotechnology for Space Exploration<\/li>\n<li>Nanotechnology Education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Industrial sponsors will also be on hand to meet students and discuss their career opportunities in nanotechnology. In fact, for the first time there will be a pre-conference <a href=\"http:\/\/411.fit.edu\/nanoflorida\/expo.php\">Nanotechnology Career Expo<\/a> on October 5th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This year NIMET and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/\">National Science Foundation (NSF)<\/a> have teamed up to provide financial support for UF students and postdocs to participate in NanoFlorida 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Important Dates and Information:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>All UF students must submit abstracts and register by September 7th (<a href=\"http:\/\/411.fit.edu\/nanoflorida\/register.php\">submission page<\/a>)\n<ul>\n<li>Earlier submission will increase your chances of getting free registration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>NIMET will cover the cost of group transportation, one night in a to-be-determined hotel near the venue, and poster printing.<\/li>\n<li>However, to be considered for NIMET sponsorship, all students must:\n<ul>\n<li>Fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eng.ufl.edu\/nimet\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/227\/2018\/08\/NIMET-Sponsorship-Request-Form-2018-v2.docx\">NIMET Sponsorship Request Form<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Email the completed form to the NIMET Director and NIMET Admin (see form for details) by <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>September 5th<\/strong> <\/span><\/li>\n<li>Note: Earlier submission is better to insure you get free registration<\/li>\n<li>Submit an abstract using the <a href=\"http:\/\/411.fit.edu\/nanoflorida\/register.php\">conference abstract submission page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>There will be a few meetings between the UF students that submit an abstract and the NIMET Director in order to practice and improve poster and presentation content and delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Templates for both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eng.ufl.edu\/nimet\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/227\/2018\/09\/NanoDay-Poster-Template-2018-1.pptx\">NanoFlorida Poster Template<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eng.ufl.edu\/nimet\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/227\/2018\/09\/NanoFlorida-Slide-Template-2018.pptx\">NanoFlorida Slide Template<\/a> are available for download.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This potentially free event will be a great opportunity for students to network with other nanotech researchers, develop their presentation skills, and learn about other leading nanotech research going on nearby.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Who Should <\/strong><strong>Consider <\/strong><strong>Attending<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Student researchers wishing to present their accomplishments in a low-stress environment.
