- Nakatani RIES: Research & International Experiences for Students
Excellent opportunity for freshman and sophomore students! The Nakatani RIES: Research & International Experiences for Students Fellowship connects undergraduates with the best of science & engineering research in the U.S. or Japan. U.S. Fellows can apply to spend up to 13 weeks in Japan in summer from mid-May to mid-August.
- RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering)
RISE is a program of the German Academic Exchange Service. It is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering. RISE offers unique opportunities for Bachelor students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of 2 to 3 months during the summer. RISE interns are matched with doctoral students whom they assist and who serve as their mentors. The working language will be English. All scholarship holders (about 300 are available each year) receive stipends from the DAAD to help cover living expenses, while partner universities & research institutes provide housing assistance.
- UAS7 Internship Program
The Internship Program (IP) is a new option for students interested in hands-on research opportunities at a German University of Applied Sciences. Internships offered by UAS7 member faculty allow IP participants to work alongside teams on campus research laboratories and institutes. Successful applicants for the Internship Program (IP) are eligible for the UAS7 Travel Scholarship.
- RWTH Aachen University Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program at RWTH Aachen University fosters research partnerships between qualified undergraduates from top US and Canadian universities and research faculties at our university. The 10-week program is specifically designed for students who wish to attain hands-on experience in fundamental research at one of the top universities of science and technology worldwide.
- International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE)
The IAESTE Internship Placement Program matches U.S. university students majoring in technical fields with paid internships abroad. Positions are available in industry, research institutes and universities, consulting firms, labs, and other work environments. Most placements are for 8-12 weeks during the summer, but fall and longer-term placements are also available. Best of all, most technical students in the United States are eligible to apply! There is an application fee of $75 and a program fee of $700. Selected students will be paid a salary by the overseas employers to cover basic living expenses and the amount varies from country to country. Students will be responsible for flights to and from your host country, health insurance, visa or work permit (if applicable), and other incidental expenses

- Cultural Vistas Fellowship
The Cultural Vistas Fellowship affords underrepresented U.S. university students the unique opportunity to advance their career goals, develop global competencies, and experience life in another culture. Fellows will be placed in 8-week internships in Buenos Aires, Berlin, and Bangalore. All majors are welcome to apply; Interested applicants should have a background – educational, professional, or volunteer – that shows their interest in and commitment to this focus.
