IMG_7337

The Office of Student Transition and Retention (STAR) offers a series of freshman transition summer bridge programs that range in intensity based on the curriculum of each program. The Successful Transition through Enhanced Preparation for Undergraduates Program (STEPUP) and the Engineering Freshmen Transition Program (EFTP) combine to provide first-year engineering students with distinct options to assist them in successfully transitioning into the University.

Summer-Bridge Program Structure

STAR summer-bridge programs are structured as either residential and/or non-residential programs.  The residential program component takes place during the summer B term of each academic year.  The non-residential program component takes place during the Fall and Spring semester of each academic year.

Residential Summer-Bridge Program

First-year students desiring to participate in a residential program may choose to apply for the Successful Transition and Enhanced Preparation for Undergraduates Program (STEPUP). The STEPUP program takes place during the Summer B semester (Please visit the UF Registrar webpage for a listing of dates by semester).
