The STEPUP program includes several academic development components ranging from Calculus and Chemistry workshops to a six-week project design course. The intensity level of all academic activities is intended to enhance student performance through course material provided at a very rapid pace, and in volume. The classes/workshops are not intended for students in need of remediation in any of the course subjects. Instead, the purpose is to expose students to challenges related to managing UF level classes with the intensity of a 15 to 17 hour course load (in six-weeks). The following is a general description of classes/workshops included under the academic development component:
- Calculus I Workshop
- General Chemistry Workshop
- Study Hall Sessions
