Mental Health

The University of Florida offers many counseling, suicide prevention, and other mental health services and resources.

UF Counseling & Wellness Center

The hub for mental health services and support at the University of Florida.

Crisis support

If you are in crisis, call us to consult with a crisis counselor who will assess your needs and determine what services would be helpful. You can call us 24/7 at 352-392-1575.

CWC crisis counselors are located in our office at 401 Peabody Hall, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Faculty Training: Identifying and Responding to Students in Distress

This two-part presentation will help faculty in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering learn about the state of collegiate mental health, basic skills for recognizing and supporting students in distress, and mental health resources offered at UF.

Care Area

The Care Area is an office within the Dean of Students office that was created to care for every individual who walks through this campus. The Care Area consists of many different resources, facilities, and success plans from helping students with paperwork and instructor notification when you need to miss class, to food security.

Gator-2-Gator

Gator-2-Gator @ CWC is a support initiative where you can get connected with one of our trained student ambassadors to talk. Gator 2 Gator provides 30-minute consultations for personal support and/or referral information about helpful resources. Students are welcome to attend as often as needed. During Gator 2 Gator you will not receive clinical care, evaluation, or treatment from a professional counselor or mental health professional. Therefore, no personal information will be gathered.

SilverCloud

SilverCloud is a completely confidential internet-based system or platform developed by SilverCloud Health that delivers online therapeutic and psycho-education programs. A variety of programs aim to offer information and support for people experiencing problems related to mental health.

Talkspace

Talkspace is a digital space for counseling, therapy, and medication services from licensed providers. All active GatorCare members ages 13 and older are eligible for therapy with Talkspace. Talkspace psychiatry services are available to active members, ages 18 and older.

Medical Amnesty at UF

UF students and student organizations who seek emergency medical attention for an individual(s) who needs care, as a result of alcohol and/or other substance(s) use, may receive medical amnesty from discipline for certain student conduct code violations under the UF Medical Amnesty Policy.

Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution

Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution provides a process focused on accountability, development, and support of those involved or impacted by violations of University of Florida regulations. This is achieved through an educational and restorative lens that encourages civility, upholds the degree of integrity of the institution, and helps promote the safety of the University community.

Student Health Care Center (SHCC)

The UF health fee, a per-credit-hour service fee included with tuition, helps cover most office visits at the Student Health Care Center; however, this fee does not cover all possible service charges at the SHCC, including but not limited to physicals, procedures, lab tests, X-rays, medications and medical equipment.

GatorCare

GatorCare is a Direct Service Organization of the University of Florida established in 2013 to reduce healthcare costs and promote access to quality healthcare and innovative health and wellness solutions for the employees and families of employer groups of the University of Florida and the University of Florida Health and its affiliates. Gatorwell

Empowering UF students to be healthy through prevention, Gatorwell provides health resources including wellness coaching, HIV testing, and information on behavioral safety concerns for students.

UF Health Patient Care

UF Health Shands Hospital encompasses the UF Health Science Center – the Southeast’s most comprehensive academic health center – and the Shands family of hospitals and services. Nutrition Services at SHCC

Currently enrolled students can make an appointment with the Student Health Care Center’s registered dietitian for nutrition education and counseling in Nutrition Services, located on the first floor of the Infirmary Building. The health fee included with tuition covers patient financial responsibility associated with most SHCC office visits.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness resources to help you remain present.

Mindfulness at GatorWell

Koru is a mindfulness program designed specifically for emerging adults and college students. The course is four weeks long and is offered for FREE to UF students. In these classes, you learn various strategies to help you be more mindful. Classes meet one time a week for 75 minutes and then you are asked to practice the strategies for 10 minutes a day outside of class.
