Powering the New Engineer to Transform the Future
Dear Alumni & Friends,

Dean Cammy AbernathyThis fall, with the vision and generosity of one of our Distinguished Alumni, we began the greatest transformation in the 105-year history of the college! We are now the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering – and we are Powering the New Engineer to Transform the Future!

Dr. Herbert Wertheim and his wife Nicole, and the Dr. Herbert & Nicole Wertheim Family Foundation, have given $50 million to our college – a catalyst gift that will spark a $300 million public and private investment in our future. We will be adding more faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and enhancing engineering education to inspire solutions that will reimagine the way we live, work, and play. We hope everyone in the Gator Engineering community will join hands in pushing the college toward this phenomenal Transformation.

Our researchers have been making headlines all over the world. Dr. Tommy Angelini has created an entirely new engineering discipline, and our Cybersecurity team has been traveling all over the world, sharing security insights and innovations. Read more below!

Congratulations to all of you on being a part of this momentous time in our history. It’s a great time to be a Gator Engineer!

Warm regards,
