Dr. Elliot Douglas assigned as IE³ Associate Director for Research

Dr. Elliot Douglas has accepted the assignment of Associate Director for Research in the Institute for Excellence in Engineering Education (IE³).  Dr. Douglas will remain as a Professor of Environmental Engineering, and takes on the assignment in the institute to promote research in engineering education, and to be a resource to the faculty at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering who are interested in pursuing scholarly activities in engineering education.  Dr. Douglas has returned from his assignment at the National Science Foundation where he has been a Program Director for Engineering Education for the past 2 ½ years.  In that role, he was the lead program director for Research in the Formation of Engineers, Research Initiation in Engineering Formation, CAREER awards in engineering education, and Revolutionizing Engineering and Computer Science Departments (RED). He also supported the education and workforce development component of the Engineering Research Centers program.
