It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Warren B. Nelms, an outstanding alumnus from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. Nelms passed away on May 16, 2021. Warren is forever honored and remembered by the Warren B. Nelms Institute for the Connected World, thanks to a generous gift made by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Daryl Nelms and the Nelms family in 2017.

Lamar Miller, University of Florida professor of environmental engineering sciences, passed away on January 1, 2017. He was 81. Miller spent 13 years at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where he was science advisor to the Assistant Administrator for Enforcement and Director of Hazardous Waste Enforcement in Washington, D.C.
