Rhonda Holt (BSCS ’86) is now senior vice president of information technology at the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), but before she started college, she assumed she would pursue aerospace as a profession. She shares the story of a summer job that changed the course of her life.

Marianne Francois (Ph.D., AEMES ’02) was named the Division Leader of the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in May 2020. Achieving this position was the culmination of 18 years of increasingly more complex work and greater responsibility. Of her success, she said, “It is an honor and very humbling to be leading a large number of scientists across multiple disciplines.”

As part of his commitment to the importance of leadership education, Gene Fraser (B.S., ChE ’76) has endowed two teaching professorships in the Engineering Leadership Institute at the UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.

Students from the Herbert Wertheim College of engineering swept all four top honors in the 2020 Big Idea Gator Business Plan Competition, sponsored by Warrington College of Business.
