Born and raised in Punjab, India, Komalpreet Singh always knew he wanted to be a scientist and researcher. After completing a master’s degree with a specialization in water resources from Punjab Agricultural University, he came to the University of Florida in 2022 to begin his Ph.D. in environmental health engineering – and become a major Gator football fan.

Two online engineering graduate programs at the University of Florida cracked the Top 15 – one hitting No. 10 – on U.S. News & World Report’s list of the 2025 Best Online Programs.

Under the guidance of civil engineering professor Eric Du, Ph.D., UF students are using advanced applications of ground robots, robotic arms, and drones to develop cutting-edge solutions with real-world impact.

UF’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) chapter was selected as one of six Gold Chapters of the Year by the national organization.

Two winners of UF’s International Student Achievement Awards are from the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering: Ph.D. student Karthik Boregowda from India and Industrial and Systems Engineering senior Yousef Bani Ahmad from Jordan.
