
Meet GLENN M. RENWICK
Former President and CEO The Progressive Corporation
Glenn Renwick (1955-2025) was the former President and CEO of the Progressive Corporation. In a 32-year career there, with half that time as CEO, he had a distinctive impact in the financial and competitive position of the company seeing a revenue growth from about $400M to over $40B and pursuing the quest to become the U.S. consumer’s top choice for auto insurance. He held many leadership and management roles during his tenure in the company including Division President, Chief Information Officer and Product Manager, and was a leading contributor to many technical and marketing innovations that distinguished the company from its competitors by creative and consumer responsive approaches to marketing and sales of a traditional product. Renwick also created and led a value-based workplace culture that is well recognized as a driver of employee retention and attraction, and high integrity dealings between colleagues, consumers, shareholders and regulators. Renwick was featured twice in Forbes listings of the 40 most admired CEOs in the world.
Renwick was a Gator alumnus holding a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a focus on operations research. He was a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Alpha Pi Mu honor societies. Renwick began his career as a technologist in Bell Laboratories and subsequently joined Ernst & Whitney as a management science consultant before initiating his career with Progressive. He had also served as Chairman of the Board for Fiserv, a global financial technology and services company and on the Board of Directors as Chairman of the Audit Committee for United Health Group.
