We collaborate with our partners on initiatives to unite leading researchers from industry and academia in developing concrete, contextualized solutions for the most pressing technical and governance challenges in artificial intelligence.
Fostering national and international cooperation, as well as connecting academia with industry, our work advocates for and embodies two specific types of collaboration: geographic and institutional.
Geographic
AI’s impact transcends geographical boundaries, making collective agreement on crucial issues like environmental impact mitigation, preservation of cultural knowledge, and appropriate deployment restrictions (e.g., red lines) necessary.
Institutional
While academic institutions provide vital knowledge and research, industry partners contribute real-world implementation experience and practical solutions. The full potential of AI ethics can only be realized through an industry-academia partnership.
Partnership with organizations.
We are actively establishing organizational partnerships within and beyond the University of Florida to advance AI ethics education and research through practical joint efforts, such as convening the annual AI Ethics-to-Industry Symposium.
