Dear Gator Engineers,

Welcome to the new academic year! Whether you are stepping onto campus for the first time or returning to continue your journey, I am thrilled to welcome you back to the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.

It is an honor to serve as your Associate Dean for Student Affairs. I step into this role with deep gratitude and excitement, and I want to make one thing clear from day one: you are the most important people on this campus. Everything we do as a college is centered on your growth, your wellbeing, and your future.

Engineering is more than what happens inside lecture halls. It is about discovery, application, and leadership. This year, we are placing experiential learning at the heart of our mission. The college is dedicating substantial resources to expand access to undergraduate research, competitive internships, and entrepreneurial ventures. Whether your goal is to discover groundbreaking solutions in a lab, gain industry experience, or launch your own startup, we are here to provide the tools, mentorship, and support to turn those ambitions into reality.

UF is a family, and our entire team is here to support you at every stage of your journey. As you begin this semester, I encourage you to make the most of your time here.

Connect with your peers to collaborate, build community, and support one another.

Engage with our faculty. Knock on doors, ask questions about their research, and find mentors who inspire you.

Get involved by joining student organizations, design teams, and campus initiatives that challenge you to grow.

Most importantly, please remember that your health and well-being come first. If you face challenges, need guidance, or simply want to share ideas on how we can improve student life, our doors are always open. We are here to serve you.
