The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering presented its annual awards to students for each academic year in April. These awards celebrate the excellence and fundamental values of our college.
The Gator Attributes Award application for the 2025-26 academic year is now closed. Applications for 2026-27 will open on February 22, 2027.
These prestigious awards represent the highest honor bestowed upon students by the college. Open to all engineering students, regardless of graduation date, they recognize those who embody one of the six Gator Engineering Attributes:

Imaginative, innovative, versatile, resourceful, curious, and inspired—pursues new ideas and solutions. - Leadership
Visionary, professional, collaborative, entrepreneurial, and mission-driven—guides with care and integrity. - Integrity

These attributes serve as a model for all members of the Gator Engineering community.

These awards honor graduating seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, service, and commitment to engineering values. Students graduating in Spring, Summer, or Fall of the current academic year are eligible.
Outstanding Scholar Awards
- Outstanding Four-Year Scholar – For a student who entered UF as a freshman.
- Outstanding Two-Year Scholar – For a student who entered UF as a transfer student.

Recognizes a student for exemplary leadership and dedication to the ideals and ethics of the engineering profession. - Dean Jonathan F.K. Earle Engineering Leadership Award
Presented to a student who has shown exceptional service to the UF community and leadership among peers. - Dean Cammy Abernathy Community & Inclusion Award
Honors a student who has built community, promoted belonging, and championed equity and inclusion in engineering.
