The Gator100 recognizes and celebrates the 100 fastest-growing, Gator-owned or Gator-led businesses in the world each year.

The awards ceremony to recognize this year’s honorees was held on the main University of Florida campus today. Congratulations to our talented alums (and faculty) who made the list for leading one of the world’s “Fastest Growing Gator Companies:”

1962 B.S., Civil Engineering

The S. Clark Butler Pinnacle Award recognizes an established leader who has demonstrated leadership and entrepreneur excellence.

Neil Schopke co-founded LIFDEK in 2013 to develop and commercialize a more cost efficient shipping system for lightweight logistics. He has 5 pending patents and is a serial entrepreneur with interest in over 13 business operations.

1996 B.S., Civil Engineering

Annette Cornwell is the president of Blakeland Construction Services Cornwell, a SBA 8(a) women-owned general and electrical contractor. She is the central point of communication and oversees company projects from conceptualization to final construction.

1990 B.S., Civil Engineering

David Wantman is president of Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI) a consulting firm that provides a range of infrastructure services. Last year, WGI ranked No. 37 in the 2016 Gator100 list. Regionally, it was also ranked #55 on the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2015 Florida Fast 100 List, and ranked #70 by the South Florida Business Journal in its 2015 Top 100 Fastest-Growing Companies.

2006 M.S., Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering; 2007 Ph.D., Robotics

Danny Kent is co-founder of OpenJAUS LLC, where he focuses on software development for standards-based robotic systems. He has over 15 years of experience in robotic system development. At UF, his research focused on world modeling for unmanned systems.

1993 B.S., Computer Engineering

Michael Cottmeyer has served as the CEO of LeadingAgile since founding the company in 2010. Last year, he ranked No. 3 in the 2016 Gator100 rankings and joined the Engineering Innovation Institute at UF as an Entrepreneur in Residence.  His company ranked #322 on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies in America.

2001 B.S., Computer Engineering

Michael Mosseri is the co-founder and chief technology officer of Profitly. His company serves as a platform to make trading more efficient using statistics and data.

1990 B.S., Industrial and Systems Engineering

Marc O’Connor is the chief operating officer of Curant Health. Marc has 20 years of chief level experience in executive management, finance, and business development. He recently spoke to students in UF’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering as a guest lecturer.

1993 M.E., Civil & Coastal Engineering

Reggie Chandra is the CEO of Rhythm Engineering, a company that works with municipal, county and state transportation agencies to make personalized, adaptive, traffic control systems for each client. Last year, he ranked No. 62 in the 2016 Gator100 list.

1991 B.S. Civil Engineering

Ron Antevy is president and CEO of e-Builder, Inc., a company that provides personalized construction management software to facility owners and construction professionals. E-builder was ranked No. 75 on the 2016 Gator100 list, and was recognized in the 2015 Gator100 list.

1990 B.S., Survey and Mapping

Pamela and Russell Hyatt lead Hyatt Survey Services, Inc. Their expertise include direction of quality control and technical procedures, as well as client relations and marketing. The duo each have 23 years of professional surveying and mapping experience relating to transportation planning, construction and engineering.

1977 B.S., Civil Engineering

Carlos A. Penin is the president and founder of C.A.P. Government, Inc. a privately held, minority-owned consulting firm. Throughout his career, Penin has played an integral role in the south Florida engineering community and has overseen several projects for the state of Florida and City of Miami.

2000 B.S., Environmental Engineering Sciences & B.S., Business Administration

Jay Conroy is president of Hydro-Dyne Engineering, a company that designs and manufactures screening, screening handling and grit removal equipment for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment. Hydro-Dyne Engineering was ranked No. 97 on the 2016 Gator100 list.

1983 B.S., Chemical Engineering, 1997 MBA

Gabino Cuevas is the CEO of CEI Engineering Associates, Inc. He has over 30 years of environmental assessment and remediation. At CEI, Cuevas oversees the environmental division and holds a leadership role in client relationship management and marketing campaigns.

1985 B.S. and 1987 M.S., Electrical Engineering

Bob Cooper is the CEO and co-founder of Swampfox Technologies, which delivers contact center applications and IT solutions. He is responsible for technical direction and strategy, as well as product and engineering management. SwampFox Technologies was recognized in the 2015 Gator100 rankings.

1988 B.S., Electrical Engineering

Manuel Rosendo serves as president and chief innovation officer of Entic, Inc. He has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial building technology industry. His vision of providing innovation-driven HVAC peak performance technology was the genesis of Entic.
