Proposal and Program Support

As the nation and state focus more on academic leadership and innovation programs for economic impact, the Engineering Leadership and Innovation Institutes serve the faculty by actively exploring and coordinating related funding opportunities in research and education programs. The Institutes serve the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering faculty and students in preparing research and education proposals to federal, state, and private sector partners and funding agencies. Specifically, the Institutes provide proposal preparation assistance by integrating strong and diverse innovation, entrepreneurship, technology commercialization, and leadership education programs into research and education program proposals. Additionally, the Institutes support active research and education projects and center leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology commercialization programs.

The institutes can provide support by designing complete leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology commercialization programs, reviewing ongoing programs, and engaging private sector partners such as entrepreneurs, small companies, and multi-national corporations to support the technology commercialization element of a research program or center.
