Leadership Conference Opportunities
The Engineering Leadership Institute (ELI) provides University of Florida engineering students with opportunities to develop their leadership skills and engage with leaders from industry, government, academia, and other universities. Through participation in external leadership conferences, students gain new perspectives, exchange ideas, and strengthen their leadership capabilities.

ELI supports student participation in several external leadership conferences, each offering a different perspective on leadership, professional development, ethics, and character.
- Lockheed-Martin Ethics in Engineering Case Competition – An opportunity for undergraduate teams to explore ethical, business, and engineering challenges through collaborative problem-solving.
- US Naval Academy Leadership Conference (NALC) – Brings together student leaders from military and civilian universities to discuss leadership across different fields.
- McDonald Conference for Leaders of Character (MCLC) – Connects student leaders with industry leaders to explore leadership principles, critical thinking, and social responsibility.
- National Conference on Ethics in America (NCEA) – Focuses on leadership, values, ethics, and character development.
- Simmons Leadership Conference – Features accomplished women leaders discussing professional development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

Express Interest by completing the ELI Conference Interest Form. ELI considers students’ academic performance, leadership involvement, and ELI curriculum participation when identifying potential participants.
Submitting the form does not guarantee attendance. Selection is also subject to conference requirements and available opportunities.
