The University of Florida Engineering Leadership Institute focuses on creating leaders for a new world where technology plays a major role and the need for principle based, character focused leaders is now more than ever demanded by our country and the world. For the US to continue to lead the world in engineering and innovation, engineers must take their rightful role in becoming leaders in all aspects of society – in industry, education, government, and the military. The UF College of Engineering is dedicated to being a leader in this field. The Engineering Leadership Institute will change the view of and by engineers about their role as leaders in modern society. Through the Institute, the University of Florida aims to be at the forefront of a national movement transforming the way in which engineers impact society through their leadership.
The UF Engineering Leadership Institute is inviting applicants for the position of Director, providing an opportunity for an established, demonstrated leader in engineering to create, design, and implement the programs, curricula, and experiences that will achieve our vision of a generation of engineers who choose to lead. The Director’s primary responsibilities will include leading a cross-college effort to build this program, including creating a sound and enduring strategic and financial future and building opportunities for leadership education to undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and faculty of the College of Engineering. The Director will be challenged to design and implement programs to infuse a culture of engineering leadership throughout the college and the national engineering community.
