To remain in good standing in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 in their critical tracking courses. Some majors have higher critical tracking GPA requirements. Students are also expected to complete the critical tracking course work within 5 semesters (not counting summer terms for regular students or not counting fall terms for Innovation Academy students). Students are only allowed two attempts at a critical tracking course.

Simultaneous enrollment during the fall and spring semesters (spring and summer semesters for IA students) require an approved college petition. Students must be able to demonstrate and provide supporting documentation of an extenuating circumstance that warrants an exception to this policy.

Students who wish to take courses at another academic institution are generally only allowed to do so during the summer semester (fall semester for IA students). Students must submit a transient application through the Florida Shines portal and must receive approval from their academic advisor.
