At the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester, UF hosts the largest career fair in the southeast. Hundreds of companies (technical leads and HR recruiters) come to UF campus because they want to hire specifically UF engineers. It is encouraged that you review the list of companies ahead of time, identify a few that you are interested in (and prioritize those lines) and come prepared to ask the company representatives thoughtful questions. Along with the general fair, some companies host their own info session in order to have a more intimate environment. Take a look at the Career Connection Center website to see the full listing of Showcase main and side events.
Some HWCOE departments host their own industry connect events. They may occur during UF Showcase week or at another time in the semester. These events have smaller attendee populations, which means you get more time to talk with the recruiters. And these companies are especially motivated to select students from the UF program.

HWCOE student organizations and design teams are a great way to gain technical experience, improve professional development skills, and leverage social and professional networks. Once students graduate (and enter the workforce), they may choose to give back to UF by engaging with the student organizations that meant so much to them. Some of our student organizations are very good at creating internal alumni network mentor programs, industry sponsorship, and exclusive internship placement from these relationships.
