Jim is an adjunct lecturer of the undergraduate Fundamentals of Engineering Project Management course offered through the Engineering Leadership Institute in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. He is a project manager and an environmental engineer in the Gainesville office of the Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., an industry-leading, American international technical professional services firm. Jim has almost 20 years of project management experience and over 20 years of environmental engineering experience, within the consulting engineering industry. He has also served in various management and leadership roles within the organizational structure during this time. Jim is also a 9-year veteran of the US Army Air Borne Division where he earned an undergraduate degree in Radiologic Technology as well as a certificate in electronics.

Jim is a Gator Engineer holding an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering and a masters degree in business administration from UF. He is a licensed professional engineer in Florida. He is originally from Oregon but has been a long-term resident of the Gainesville area where he and his wife of 25 years raised their 2 daughters. He enjoys competitive sailing, snowboarding and bicycling.
