Professor Judy traveled to Miami to participate in the advisory board for Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation Biomedical Nanotechnology Institute at the University of Miami (BioNIUM).

• The goal of BioNIUM is to provide technological solutions to biomedical barriers and accelerate the pace of discovery to better serve our communities. Our progress has been significant, and BioNIUM faculty have accounted for more than $94M in research funding since its inception, along with 450 publications and more than 25 patents issued. We have hosted over 200 fellows, graduate students and visiting scholars, and have established specific courses and community engagement, in addition to our seminars and retreats. We have created a sophisticated Nao-Micro Fabrication Facility, the first of its kind at the University of Miami and unique in South Florida. We plan to build on this significant foundation.
