NeuroTech Community

NeuroTech Community

The NeuroTech group at the University of Florida aims to foster an interactive network for anyone interested in the field of neural engineering, across schools, departments, and divisions. Our community website provides students, professors, and industry professionals a platform to connect, share knowledge, and collaborate on new ideas and projects. By bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds, we hope to accelerate progress in the field and promote the development of innovative technologies that can improve healthcare and enhance our understanding of the brain and nervous system. Additionally, our website is a hub for exciting seminars and social events focused on neuroengineering tools, techniques, applications, and outreach, so stay tuned!

Neural engineering is a field that combines principles from neuroscience and engineering to develop technologies that interface with the brain and nervous system. The goal of neural engineering is to understand how the nervous system works and to develop new technologies that can enhance its function or repair it when it is damaged. This can involve developing devices that can record or stimulate neural activity, such as brain implants or prosthetic limbs, or using advanced computational methods to analyze large amounts of neural data. Neural engineering is a rapidly growing field with the potential to transform many areas of healthcare, such as neuroprosthetics, brain-machine interfaces, and neuromodulation therapies for neurological and psychiatric disorders. It also has important applications in basic neuroscience research, allowing scientists to better understand how the brain processes information and generates behavior. UF provides an extensive selection of courses and training related to this field, catering to diverse interests and academic pursuits.
