Requirements

Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering Master’s application requirements may include:

• Office of Admissions  Online application and application fee (some fee waivers available; varies by department) via the
  • The application fee is $30
• The GRE is waived for all departments except Computer and Information Sciences and Engineering
• Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
  • Bachelor’s Degree received prior to the start of MS enrollment term (4-year Bachelor’s degree for international students)
  • unofficial transcripts may be used for the application review until official transcripts can arrive later
• Statement of Purpose
• 3 Letters of Recommendation
• Resume or CV that includes all post-high school education and employment
• International Applicants must have English proficiency scores sent to the university (TOEFL 80+, IELTS 6+)
  • List of countries exempt from this policy
  • University of Florida institutional code for sending test scores is 5812
• Potential secondary engineering departmental application requirements, check with department websites or contact dept graduate staff

Online Master’s Degree

• Some of our engineering departments offer online Master’s degrees via EDGE: Electronic Delivery of Gator Engineering
• EDGE is offered at a discounted tuition rate

Deadlines

• Fall Admission
  • Priority Deadline: January 5
  • Most departments allow applications past this date, but admission decisions can take considerably longer to process. Check department websites or contact department graduate staff for guidance.
• Spring Admission
  • Many departments offer Spring admission (January) for master’s degree programs and these deadlines vary. Check department websites or contact department graduate staff for guidance.
• Online Master’s via EDGE holds to the same Master’s degree application deadlines.
