Requirements
Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering Master’s application requirements may include:
- Office of Admissions Online application and application fee (some fee waivers available; varies by department) via the
- The application fee is $30
- The GRE is waived for all departments except Computer and Information Sciences and Engineering
- Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
- Bachelor’s Degree received prior to the start of MS enrollment term (4-year Bachelor’s degree for international students)
- unofficial transcripts may be used for the application review until official transcripts can arrive later
- Statement of Purpose
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
- Resume or CV that includes all post-high school education and employment
- International Applicants must have English proficiency scores sent to the university (TOEFL 80+, IELTS 6+)
- List of countries exempt from this policy
- University of Florida institutional code for sending test scores is 5812

Online Master’s Degree
- Some of our engineering departments offer online Master’s degrees via EDGE: Electronic Delivery of Gator Engineering
- EDGE is offered at a discounted tuition rate

- Fall Admission
- Priority Deadline: January 5
- Most departments allow applications past this date, but admission decisions can take considerably longer to process. Check department websites or contact department graduate staff for guidance.
- Spring Admission
- Many departments offer Spring admission (January) for master’s degree programs and these deadlines vary. Check department websites or contact department graduate staff for guidance.
