About IGNITE

IGNITE (Innovation Gator Network for Inspiring Technological Entrepreneurship) is a dynamic student-led innovation leadership group committed to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and the broader University of Florida community. Working in close collaboration with the faculty of the Engineering Innovation Institute (EII), IGNITE aims to empower its peers to embrace an innovative mindset, equipping them with the skills, resources, and mentorship necessary to transform their ideas into impactful ventures.

Under the leadership of the graduate Director and guided by EII faculty, IGNITE members serve as catalysts for change, actively engaging with students, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals to bridge the gap between academia and real-world application. By organizing a wide range of events, workshops, and initiatives, IGNITE seeks to inspire, educate, and connect the next generation of innovators, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and creating opportunities to cross-pollinate ideas. By providing a platform for students to network, learn from industry experts, and access funding opportunities, IGNITE aims to break down barriers and empower aspiring innovators to overcome challenges, shaping the future through groundbreaking innovations and positively impacting the world around them.

Through their active involvement in IGNITE, students can enhance their leadership skills, gain practical experience in innovation management, and develop an innovative mindset that extends beyond their academic pursuits. IGNITE serves as a nurturing space where students can learn from each other, experiment with new technologies, and explore their passions while revolutionizing the College of Engineering and making a tangible impact on their communities and society as a whole.
