2017 Robert C. Pittman NIMET Fellow
Ph.D. Student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering
B.S., The Ohio State University

Taylor obtained her B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University. Taylor’s research interests include cartilage and nerve tissue engineering and the medical applications of biomaterials. She interned at Nanofiber Solutions, a biomaterials company in Columbus, Ohio where she was responsible for making and testing electrospun polymer blends for tracheal replacement. She has also had research experience at the Spinal Therapeutics Lab at OSU, exploring the underlying cellular mechanisms of intervertebral disc degeneration, one cause of low back pain.  Taylor will become a graduate research assistant within the Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at the University of Florida. Taylor looks forward to continue researching pathologies of cartilage, and to seeking solutions for these diseases.
